Faith vs Reason

Some Christians have the idea that faith and reason are in conflict, I disagree.

For years people have debated what supersedes what? Some non christians also think reason and faith do not mix. I have a different opinion, I think faith is not against reasoning. In my opinion faith is reasoning like God. God thinks and expects us to do the same, Faith is an invitation to reason like God. What a privilege to think like the creator of the Heavens and Earth. (Isaiah 1v18 “Come now, and let us reason together”

Faith is exchanging our ordinary earthly thoughts for the divine. Like God’s invitation to John in Revelation 4v1, Faith is an invitation to “Come up hither”. A child remains a child until he starts thinking like an adult. We children of God stay earthly until we reason like the divine. A christians maturity is not based on how long they have been christians, but on their level of faith (how much we think like our Father). God works by faith and if we are his children, we need to also. Gods way are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. He was here even before time began. So, to think there can be human reasoning with Him out of the picture is absurd. The creation cannot be more intellectual than the Creator. Becoming a child of God, and getting the privilege to read about Him is such a blessing. We mere humans get to think on God’s frequency.

There can be no proper reasoning on any subject outside God’s Word. He dictates what marriage should be and how it will work best, the definition of gender, the right political beliefs. Like the original sin in the garden, things never go well when we think we are more intelligent than God.

How do you reason like God? It is simple, be born again and start reading your Bible. The Bible is no ordinary book, it is how we know God and understand how he thinks. We learn what is right and wrong. Exchange your mortal thoughts, for the divine. Faith is not against reasoning, it is reasoning on God’s frequency.
